The Glove of Death is a glove made of soft, black leather. It can be worn on either hand, and is of elbow length.
In the Age of the Beginning, on the world Arinoth, when the Gods were just coming into being, Each God received his or her Symbol, and Tools from The WorldMaster. For Death, a Grim Reaper represents him, and he received his Glove and Cloak. Like all of the Tools of the Gods of Arinoth, they are made of the essences of the Positive and Negative Material Planes fused together by The WorldMaster.
Any weapon weilded by the hand that is covered by the Glove, is treated as a +4 version of that weapon, gaining all bonuses to attack rolls, damages, and THAC0. If a Scythe (SP?) is used as the weapon of choice of the owner, it then is treated as a +6 weapon gaining all bounses. Also if a critical hit is made, a roll of a natural 20, then the victim must save vs. Death or die, if the save is made the victim must then the victim is rendered unconcious, and will remain in a coma for 2d4 days. Each day that the victim is in the coma s/he can make a save vs. paralyzation. If the save is made, then the victim will wake from the coma in 1d2 hours, but will be at -3 to all attack rolls, damage, and all saving throws. Also the victim will be unable to use psionics, spells, or scrolls for 1d4 days. If the victim stays in the coma for the full duration, he will come out of it 1d2 hours after the last day, and will have no penalties to any rolls. Also the wearer of the Glove can make unarmed touch attacks with the Glove. The Glove must touch skin otherwise it is treated as a normal unarmed attack. If the Glove touches skin it will do 3d8+4 damage. A save vs. Death, if made, will half the damage. If the save is failed by a natural 1, then the victim takes all damage, and permanently loses 1 point of Constitution. This loss can never be regained, and lowers the maximum Constitution possible for the victim by 1.
The Wearer of the Glove can cast Finger of Death (3/Day), Bigby's Grasping Hand (1/Day), and Detect Undead (At Will). All spells are treated as if cast by a 20th level Wizard.
The Glove is a Chaotic Neutral Artifact by nature. If used by anyone of a Good or Evil alignment, a save vs. Death must be made or the victim dies. If the save is made the victim takes 5d12+10 damage, and loses 1 point of Constitution permenantly, as above it can never be regained. If used be a Lawful Neutral, or True Neutral person, only the Gloves Invoked powers can be used, and the Finger of Death spell can only be case once per week.
If the God of Death is still active, then he is going to be mighty peeved at the loss, and possible misuse of his Glove, and will come looking for it. He will give mercy only if the person who is wearing it was not the one who caused it to be lost. If Death is destroyed, then the Glove will attempt Artifact Possesion, and Artifact Transformation to transform the new owner into the new God of Death. If Death is just inert, then Artifact Possesion will be attempted and the person will find himself on a quest to free, or restore the God of Death. In All Cases Artifact Possesion will be attempted, and will make the wearer attend ALL Funerals, Death Watches, and Death Beds in his immediate area of the world.
* The God or Goddess of Nature or Life must kiss the Glove, in which both the Glove and God or Goddess will Dissappear in a blinding Flash. Both will be destroyed. * The God or Goddess of Time must re-write the entire Book of the Universe with Kuroth's Quill, and Ink made from The WorldMaster's Blood, removing any traces from the book of The Glove. * The Glove must be taken back to the beginning of time and incinerated in the fiery heart of the sun as it is formed, it must be taken by a living humanoid bieng of Chaotic Neutral alignment, and that bieng must stay there until the sun incinerates the Glove, and the person.
This artifact is a bit powerful, and shouldn't be allowed in the players hands too long… They should use it only when it is needed, and then you should have either Death come in to take it over, or some quick thinking theif take it out of there hands… You should not use this for character removal, by making a character become Death… As then you will have a peeved person, who might want to try and cast that Finger of Death on you.

Introduction
The previous version of this compendium was released close to fifteen years ago. With FidoNet long gone, and plain text out of style, I figured it was time to reformat this thing for the internet. This version includes seven spell submissions that didn'….
