Chapter 1: Raiders at the Farmplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 1: Raiders at the Farm
The innkeeper's daughter seems to be staring at me a lot. I'm not quite sure why. All right, she does seem to enjoy my singing, but she stares at me when I'm just wandering around the room gathering empty mugs, and I know that's not anything remotely close to a glamorous activity. I might have to talk with her father about it
Chapter 2: The Soldier and the Maidplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 2: The Soldier and the Maid
“It had been three days since I was forced to leave my home and all that I knew because of...well...the less said about that, the better. Over the past two days, I had become better acquainted with Thea, who also now found herself out of the Viscount's employ, than in all the years we served the same master. I suppose it's only to be expected; the servants were always supposed to be silent and out of the way - but no matter. It seems she and I are in much the same straights, and they seem far…
Chapter 3: Rulenplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 3: Rulen
In the end, we had our conversation with Viscount Milendi, or more precisely the singer did, Derry. When I returned from my conversations with the housekeeper and the valet to the Viscount, I was much discouraged, but none of the others seemed as worried. I suppose, not being servants, they don’t know the list of things one would never say or imply about the master, no matter how private the moment seems. Three of us went to the door to ask to speak to the Viscount. They took one look at Enk…
Chapter 4: The Secret of Enka's Farmplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 4: The Secret of Enka's Farm
Got out of Nailtown at night, better than waiting to get robbed in the night. We headed back toward Nole’s Village. Since we were a big group, and heavily armed, nobody bothered us. Spotted one band of raiders on the way, and Van warned a local farmer about them. Didn’t say much other than he had an axe just in case. Disturbing that all these farmers treat bandits as a normal fact of life, no more worrisome than a month without rain.
Chapter 5: Squatting and Covered in Greaseplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 5: Squatting and Covered in Grease
Although we had already encountered one band of creatures in the tunnels beneath Enka's farm, the evening was only just beginning. Sekhmet and I scouted ahead of the others for some time before we realized just how labyrinthine the tunnels were. There were many winding pathways, often without obvious intentions behind them. We did not, however, finds any obvious exits. It is highly unlikely the beasts got all their plunder from Enka, much less that they never emerge to the surface, but we couldn…
Chapter 6: Eggs and Buffaloplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 6: Eggs and Buffalo
No recap yet.
----------
Sekhmet
Was up late last night, hunting the Kaldeye'ia, but didn’t let myself get too soft. Slept only as much as I needed, then got up before the others. Said my prayers to Algelor – saw me through another day and let my hand mete out retribution. Then went to scout around the farm. Worried that raiders will send another group – maybe know something about Enka’s farm.
Chapter 7: Wool and Madnessplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 7: Wool and Madness
Got a good haul from Rulan, didn't skimp on his reward. Bandit hunting looks profitable - maybe not so much as find the magic sticks the raiders are looking for. The Cloaked Man knows some secret. Probably has a good bit of coin too. Hope I find him someday.
Chapter 8: Looking for the Cloaked Manplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 8: Looking for the Cloaked Man
We put the raiders in a pile, kept the one with nice armor to the side. Figured he was the boss. Grabbed the only unhurt guy and picked up off the ground. Growled at him and told him to talk – he did – he was scared.
Told us leader was Sven. Sheep used some magic to heal the leader a bit so he’d wake – guess he isn’t a total fraud. Seemed different now – clearheaded, not rambling or coughing, more bloodthirsty. Thea stabilized the others. Guessed I mighta a done it, but didn’t feel like …
Chapter 9: Chasing a Spyplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 9: Chasing a Spy
Cloaked man had sent someone out to spy on Sheep and Van after - more than one. One of them was still hanging around in the firs, spying us out. Van and I picked him out. Was thinking about letting him “slip by” then following his trail, but would be hard to dog his tracks through Nailtown - which is where he probably was headed.
Chapter 10: The Rival Gangplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 10: The Rival Gang
So, we (mostly Van) decided to let the spy go after a fashion – leaving him to wake up on his own eventually. They tucked a note inside his pouch, for the Cloaked Man – telling him to stay out of our turf. Tried to make it sound like a rival gang. I let the others handle it, but added a couple of words to make it more threatening. Put the man off a bit.
Chapter 11: A Moral Hand-Offplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 11: A Moral Hand-Off
Things were still slow. No more bandits round Nole’s village. Enka farmed, Van made some of his alchemy slingshot thingies and Derry sung for his supper (and maybe a bed-warmer). Sheep rode off to visit some tower, hoped he stayed there. I hunted, talked to Thea about spell stuff she knew. She not an expert on the Celasian gods, but she read books in Viscount’s keep after strange stuff started happening around her.
Chapter 12: Enka's Day Outplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 12: Enka's Day Out
Spent a couple of weeks hunting around Enka’s farm and scouting. Nothing new happened. Van and the others seemed to be getting antsy – too impatient. No hurry on my end, you go to fast, you make mistakes – Horst lesson number 5. Better to bide time and come out on top at the end than charge into the wolf’s den soon as you find it.
Chapter 13: Baron Wentlyplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 13: Baron Wently
Acting on a weak lead and a hunch, we headed out from Enka’s farm to talk to Baron Wentley. We figured we’d ask him about Melendi’s recent claim to part of his land – and if we were lucky, maybe the Baron would have work for us besides. His estate is very nice, though small compared to Viscount Melendi. It looks like the Baron favors the pastoral life, and lives quietly, for the most part. He seems a decent enough fellow; pleasant, hospitable, perhaps a bit lonely, but not very helpful. See…
Chapter 14: Arriving at the Endplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 14: Arriving at the End
Got to West End, dull trip, Van seems bored. Wants to buy a horse so he doesn't have to walk - even though that costs a lot of pieces. Maybe he wouldn't have been happy as a soldier, even before he got fired, being a good soldier usually means being able to deal with a lot of boredom - better than being busy as a soldier in any event.
Chapter 15: Enka Digs Deepplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 15: Enka Digs Deep
So we'd got some job offers here, maybe questionable, but worth a lot of money potentially. Decided it worth it to stick around some. Took over one room again and got a decent sleep - made sure no open windows to haunt us like outside Nailtown. Kept an eye on Van, but figure by now he pretty safe, imagine he's got eyes for Thea more than anything else.
Chapter 16: Mud Deliveriesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 16: Mud Deliveries
Today we tried to contact the elves. Mostly we wanted to find out whether Elenbedelle is all he makes himself out to be, but I hoped they would have more to say than just petty politics. We had to wander far out of town, around the lake, into the wilderness. On the edge of the forest was a very out-of-place estate (with all the doors and windows open), and a partially-completed house, missing a wall. Apparently the wall was missing because the elves grow their homes by manipulating the envir…
Chapter 17: The Cave of DOOMplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 17: The Cave of DOOM
Well... Maybe the stories of the Doom Cave aren't all ridiculous. The opening of the cave was, in fact, covered with a net made of entrails. I honestly wasn't expecting that. The cave itself has been... fascinating. Walls glowed red with some kind of algae (which Enka found out the hard way is not edible). Caves were filled with (mostly) shallow water that was home to fish that like to eat meat - including leather boots, and the feet inside them. Strange animalistic creatures live in the c…
Chapter 18: Enka Loves the Frog Godplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 18: Enka Loves the Frog God
The “Doom” cave didn't disappoint. Sure it was strange, damp and mostly empty at the start - other than boot-eating fish, but deeper in we found the frog-men. It was a bit hard to peg them. Not human, some abomination blood there, but maybe something human left in them. I could feel evil in them, but not a particularly strong or overwhelming taint. The first ones avoided us, but the second pair pounced.
Chapter 19: Derry & Elf Diningplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 19: Derry & Elf Dining
Getting out of the Cave of Doom was tougher than getting in, but not just in the way I expected. Sure the man-eating abominations down there and the vicious fish took a chunk or two out of us, but it wasn't anything we couldn't handle. The cursed idol was another story.
Chapter 20: The Farmer and the Wolvesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 20: The Farmer and the Wolves
When I was still traveling with my teacher, several years back, one of the things she told me was this: “Derry, if you keep practicing your singing, eventually the melody of the music will reveal the reality of people's hearts around you.” At the time I had no idea what she meant. When I spent that year learning from the knights and started being able to tell which ones were the wormwoods, I knew that it had nothing to do with my singing.
Chapter 21: Elenbedelle's Comeuppanceplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 21: Elenbedelle's Comeuppance
Hectic and bloody day. Damn near died in the streets of Westend, and would have without blessings to keep me alive (though might have been more careful wading into the fight without them too).
Not sure how it all came about, but wound up with an ogre brute invading West End and breaking stuff. Found the dire wolf cave easy, pretty obvious something else big - a giant - was keeping house with the critters. What it had to do with hook-nose fellow who liked cursing farms I got no idea.
Chapter 22: Citizens on Patrolplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 22: Citizens on Patrol
My head and body hurt a hell of a lot the next day, from the drink and a fight that damn near killed me. The life-threatening wounds were no more, but who knows how many years it had been since I took a beating that bad - maybe not even when Horst found me at the teeth of the red wolves.
Chapter 23: Three Types of Snakeplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 23: Three Types of Snake
Today we followed Reggan, hoping to figure out something about how our would-be employer spends his time. We didn't learn much. His daily activities are quite mundane: checking on his new house renovations, chatting with 'researchers' at the silt fence
Chapter 24: Snakes on a Vanplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 24: Snakes on a Van
Little albino snakes were a pain in the ass. Seemed more poisonous than I figured, had to use some of my divine guidance to swat them. Didn't like that, worried about wasting the blessing of vengeance on little pests - but they supernaturally fast and tough to hit, and Van didn't look so good after getting poisoned. Elf took remains of a snake to work with.
Chapter 25: Daddy's little girlplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 25: Daddy's little girl
We had return to Westend late in the evening and Thea was nowhere about, probably bunking down with some big burly guy. We returned to Pol’s inn and had a bite to eat. Before turning in, Sekhmet used her healing magics to heal Uri up back to good health without me asking, so when they went to bed, I pulled out the remains of the Dire wolf pelt I had partially used to make Enka’s boots and some leather and made her a pair of boots, leaving them by her door to find in the morning. I then turned in…
Chapter 26: Everyone Loves Eggsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 26: Everyone Loves Eggs
“Lately, West End has been, well, a dead end. On Firozen's (how's it spelled?) request, we hired a cart and headed north to visit Enka's farm and the midwife in the woods. I'm not sure the trip was useful, and I still think that woman is a little creepy, but it felt good to get out of the city anyway. Firozen got some sort of statue out of the visit, too, so I guess that's something. I also realized we were halfway back to Milendi's estate, and that it might make sense to try to contact Yami…
Chapter 27: When a sheep goes badplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 27: When a sheep goes bad
Battle against the wizards finished, we took stock. Enka and Sekhmet returned from their dashes into the woods after Lanolin's spell. Casting the same medicine on him may not have been the cleverest way to deal with him, but it got the vile cur out of the fight and was rather satisfying. After questioning the two we took captive, we learned they had come from the Westend Barbers' Guild and their leader had gotten away after trapping three of us in webbing. It makes me wonder how much we real…
Chapter 28: Solving a mystery without cluesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 28: Solving a mystery without clues
We waited for Viscount Milendi to speak, to explain why he was there at the archery range. It seems the stealing of equipment from the armory and cash from the treasury has been going on very slowly for months. It has to be an inside job, to explain the timeline of frequent small robberies. But only a few people have access to the treasury at all. Milendi seemed very loathe to get into any detail, or say much beyond the bare facts of the case. He claimed he wanted to avoid biasing our inves…
Chapter 29: Too many musketsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 29: Too many muskets
Poking around the Viscount's estate didn't show much - but had some time to kill anyway. But after first day, Thea woke us up late at night and said she found the thief the little lordling was looking for. She'd hung around his keep at night and kept an eye on the vaults and spotted a tall, thin human with a mustache visiting it and leaving it with a full satchel on the way out.
Chapter 30: Spot the Liar (it's all of them)plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 30: Spot the Liar (it's all of them)
We gathered up the loot and gear from the rogue musket team and moved them onto the wagon. Put the bodies in the cabin for now. Saved the trouble of burying them ourselves but kept them out of the jaws of critters. Going to start to stink before long in this summer weather, but this way we can leave the digging to the Viscount's men. (And maybe having some of his men dig graves for some of his other soldiers might plant a decent thought or two in the diggers).
Chapter 31: Bees on a Bridgeplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 31: Bees on a Bridge
I've lived in Lindley all my life. Don't you know it's rude to ask a lady her age? Suffice to say I wasn't any prettier when your grandfather's swaddling was stinking up the town. In all my years here, we never had a problem like those damn bees. Oh, we've had problems aplenty, from the blight that killed off almost all the grape vines, to that little raiding party from Nailtown twenty/thirty years back. But those bees were a real pain in our collective behinds. Big as a dog, and not one of thos…
Chapter 32: Tracking the Spymasterplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 32: Tracking the Spymaster
Viscount was disappointed we didn't come back with the Spymaster's head, but given that he didn't tell us the guy had gone rogue and he wanted him curbed right at the start, its his own damn fault. But for taking out the rebel musket squad we got a handsome reward and Milendi finally made the call and formally put a price on the Spymaster's head. A fair one that got our interest.
Chapter 33: Bees for Saleplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 33: Bees for Sale
Thea, Faerosin, and I met in (tavern) while Sekhmet went off on her own, probably investigating the orc disappearance again. An old woman showed up, who seemed to know Thea and Faerosin. She must have met them when they went off on their own the other day (while I was getting some closure with Kelos, maybe?).
Chapter 34: Keeper of the Beesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 34: Keeper of the Bees
Fine. I’ll talk as long as the wine and steak last, but I warn you, I’m a fast eater.
Those giant mosquitos? Not a problem. Ol’ Ejala’s got a few tricks up her sleeve, even if I’m old enough to remember when Lindley was a couple shacks and a big wooden bucket of sour grapes. And those heroes, they weren’t too bad either. But fighting oversized bugs wasn’t our biggest problem. The mosquitos were after Zelno’s place, and I knew Nico had something to do with it.
Chapter 35: Ending the Silt Master Debateplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 35: Ending the Silt Master Debate
On our way back to Westend to relieve our loyal driver and to finally meet with the Barber's Guild (who clearly do more than they admit), we delivered Milendi's personal message to “Kip the blacksmith” in an unnamed hamlet. Seemed an odd place for Milendi to have business with, though. It was a very small town, far outside his domain, and most of the town seemed to be farmers and apple pickers. Kip's shop was unassuming, and I wasn't sure why Milendi had any reason to contact him. He didn't …
Chapter 36: Slogging Through - Againplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 36: Slogging Through - Again
After the night in the little monster tunnels under Enka’s farm, I’d hoped I wouldn’t be stuck traipsing through grease and dirt during the middle of a fight ever again – course I had to have that hope dashed.
I was out with Thea and Van near the edge of the lake to take a gander at the work being down by the town on bottling up the silt and see how the Elf’d house was taking shape. (Good idea that. I’ve been fine with making my way in the woods more or less, but seeing as most of my half-orc…
Chapter 37: Fish does Better in Lake than in Treesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 37: Fish does Better in Lake than in Trees
Couple of the mist omens got into town, caused a bit of a mess. Had to run around and try to whack one with the flat-end of my shovel. Thanks to Van though, I think nobody died. Led to an immediate council meeting. We talked about butting in, laying down our claim so to speak. Maybe suggest that since we have wound up protecting the town, maybe they should let us in on things - like maybe the mystery behind the wall.

Everyone in Westend seems to say they are concerned about these dragon omens, and I was concerned about them too, but no one seems to be concerned about the greater ill that appears to be afflicting this town. I have never seen or heard of a place crippled by such bureaucracy and secrecy. It's painful.
Chapter 39: In Search of our Quarryplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 39: In Search of our Quarry
We caught a lucky break with Haliburn, the crazy alchemist Edgar was able to whip up a potion that Van thought would “undo” a curse – though Van and Fish had to keep on top of him because he kept trying to switch mid-stream into making a new curse. This guy isn’t right on the head. Barely recalled he’d seen any of us at all and didn’t seem to remember the last time I saw him I gave him a parting thump after he chased away the daughter he begged us to bring to him. Was going to let Van talk to…
Chapter 40: Stone Dragon and daring escapeplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 40: Stone Dragon and daring escape
The Stone Omens attacked the town. It was a long, difficult, and dangerous battle. We couldn't control them all. Most of the party got buried waist-deep in rock, in the sinkhole in the center of town. Even Sekhmet, who managed to fight the Omens off pretty well, got knocked unconscious. Without our heaviest hitter, it looked like we might not survive the fight. Thea levitated out of the rocks, ripping up her legs pretty bad in the process, but it didn't save her from the Omens. An omen fo…

No one has written a recap for this session yet. Highlights:
* Faerosin figures out that some sort of key is required to open the chest. Kish figures out that a piece of stone dragon must be placed into each of the holes under the eight corner brackets. The chest doubles in all dimensions when it opens, and contains a bunch of magic items, money, personal items and a journal.
Chapter 42: [Placeholder - no recap]plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 42: [Placeholder - no recap]
No one has written a recap for this session yet. Highlights:
* The party searched Malor's house (alias in Westend: Kip). * They scouted for the dragon, and found it four miles away, when Sekhmet realized she was standing on it. * It lurched out of the ground, and chased Sekhmet, Kish and Uri for a mile before it froze with one hand forming a shallow cave above ground.
Chapter 43: The dragon-avoiding Festivalplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 43: The dragon-avoiding Festival
Van's Journal
We were afraid that the Stone Dragon could show up any time, and wanted to keep people away from town to minimize casualties. The festival happened outside of town as planned, but the dragon didn’t show up. So we kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Towards morning, we went to check up on the 3 guards who had been watching the dragon, and found them flung away and impaled or crushed from falls. Worse, the dragon was gone.
Chapter 44: Lost in the Fogplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 44: Lost in the Fog
I have no idea where we are or what is going on. I'm not even sure what's real anymore. It all started when we noticed that the fog over West End's lake had been thickening and expanding. At first, we all assumed it was some temporary weather pattern, but it's persisted for far too long to be as simple as that. Recently, rumors have started that people are wandering into the fog and never coming back. After some investigation and conferring with Captain Laki, it seems these people have walked in…
Chapter 45: The Minotaur and the Mist Dragonplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 45: The Minotaur and the Mist Dragon
I've been around a lot more than most of the people in Westend and the majority of them make crazy decisions, but I can't let that get to my head. Faerosin might be the nuttiest elf I've ever heard of, but she's been around the block and her insights saved us.
Chapter 46: Jegush Starts a Businessplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 46: Jegush Starts a Business
After the confusion of dealing with the mist dragon, I wish I could say I wasn't soon hoping that what I was seeing around me was just another illusion. Jegush's plans for using his brother's discoveries to get ahead in the world just scare me. It was one thing for them to sell the bracelet to the Barber's Guild; at least they can presumably deal with the side effects. Granted, I also worry what they might be able to make with Haliburn's breakthrough. I shouldn't always assume the worst from…

We have a guild now, the Defenders of the Lake. It is interesting to be accepted so much into this West End, and in such a role. How far I have come from below stairs in Viscount Milendi’s. And here I ended up Guildmistress no less, but then it was pretty clear that none of the rest of our ragtag group was very well suited to the job. They are brave and loyal friends, but no politicians, which I am sure will be most of the job.

Fisk and I were waiting around for the others to get back from hiding the items we recently acquired from the Barber school wondering what to do. ... with Sekhmet and Kish up to their necks in mud, I had a pang of fear. For certain Morro and Thea would be mud lunch for this mud dragon. But no! Some fools had ventured upon this hog-grab of a battle. A wiry man with some odd contraptions and a halfgirl (who I thought was just a young girl at first) approached the dragon head on. Strange.
That’s the only word I have to define the actions of the long legged ones. Earlier this fellow in a rather nice suit came up to Lorien and I, supposedly he’s a “runner” but he wasn’t running – it was more of a fast walking. I guess “runner” is easier to say then “fast walker” or “trotter”. Trotter is more of an apt name actually, they should be called trotters – maybe I’ll bring this up to Lorien when I see him tomorrow. I don’t know how the tall folk get anything do…
Chapter 53: Alone in the Mistplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 53: Alone in the Mist
I felt like more happened, but my account is actually pretty short:
This mist dragon just won't be quieted. After dispatching the mist omens it appeared as if the dragon was trying to break the fire barrier by the river. Thea decided to blow a hole in the dragon. She used her magic to create a giant gash in the dragon. That kept the dragon off of the city side of the lake, but she might have gone too far, because the dragon started to make a mad dash off of the lake.
Chapter 54: Mist Opportunitiesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 54: Mist Opportunities
Well the mist dragon is gone now, not that I could do a damn thing to help. Least with the mud dragon I could hit the damn thing and bust it up a little, and I destroyed a couple of the light dragon's shadows (even if I couldn't do much to finish the fight other than get blasted by its magic). This damn mist dragon though, nothing physical can hurt it and I can't toss around magical blasts like Thea or command the elements like Morro. Leaves me about as useful as wart on a frog's ass.

Van's Field Notes
The Westend Council threw a public celebration of defeating the Mist Dragon, complete with a major display of gratitude and generosity for our services. It would have been a nice gesture, but COUNT Milendi needed to upstage the Council and make the event all about his own grandeur. If that scheming sleaze didn't maintain order, I'd kill him myself on basic principle.

Lorien tried to bargain with the giant. Thea tried to help. Negotiations with the giant failed. The giant tried throwing rocks at the team, and we retaliated. (What happened to sneaking in? That was a good plan) .
AND THE GIANT HAS TRAINED ATTACK BEARS. One bear almost clawed my face off, but I put it down with a flurry of bullets. Thea flew up to the giant's face and summoned a thunderclap at point-blank range. I think that just made the giant angrier. The giant never even u…

Success!! At least some measure of it anyway. The battle was spectacular, hundreds of omens spewed forth from the creature as we became locked in mortal combat with the dragon. It seemed capable of frequent quickened actions, a very useful ability for one invulnerable to weapon strikes. These omens do not cluster quite as much as the others, an unfortunate waste of many explosions. I noticed many of the ones that were caught in the blast evaded it with no …
Chapter 61: Old Friendsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 61: Old Friends
On the way back from the Strife Dragon, we stopped in a town called Pine Hill. Reminds me of Nailtown, only cleaner and less corrupt and based on lumber instead of metal. We ran into an unexpected familiar face in the town square: Lanolin. He seems to be staying at our inn, too. Not sure how he got out of the ropes we tied him in the last time we saw him, when he tried to kill us and the Midwife to get the Stone Dragon Egg. He seems…changed. He still knows his name is Lanolin, and he still eats …
Chapter 62: Gunshots from the Rooftopsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 62: Gunshots from the Rooftops
Trip back from Strife dragon bought us a bonus. After tailing the merry band of bandit-hunters (who killed some loggers who may or may not have earned it) we tracked down this odd little set-up where someone was planting marked weapons to create a fake bandit ring. My money was on Rulen who the little halfling mage said was going to pay him.
Chapter 63: Moving Up the Chainplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 63: Moving Up the Chain
Our trip back took a while, but we had some decent cargo in tow – a part of a “Strife” dragon (though how the hell we can seize a portion of it I don’t know) and Rulen, otherwise known as the Cloaked Man. (Or Rat Bastard – depending on preference). Also got his cloak too, an odd little thing that puts the wearer in a shadow. Guess his professional name was fitting.
Chapter 64: Life and Death - i.e. a Town Meetingplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 64: Life and Death - i.e. a Town Meeting
At least the town didn’t get wiped out in our absence. In fact, it sees a strangely lively. Defender’s guild wasn’t in such great shape, but Kish’s little assistant appeared to be in great shape – maybe even a little taller – though worried about the fact money had stopped coming in on a regular basis. Apparently the council wasn’t paying anymore.
Chapter 65: Deathplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 65: Death
Field Log 27 Oja Nuenthi
The team has spent the better part of a week plotting activities and triangulating the course of the life dragon. That effort seems to have paid off as we successfully discovered its most probable location. On rout to its path we discovered an enormous bear close to the town. Not willing to leave it alone and not keep on killing it for merely existing Kish ordered his snake to approach and attempt to scare it off. This succeeded and we continued on our way. Not lon…
Chapter 66: Lifeplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 66: Life
With what appears of the death omens keep respawning, we decided to retreat back to town and rethink our attack. In trying to retreat the death omens followed, by difficult maneuvers (sensing/see where they were heading, knowing the lay of the surrounding land/woods) we ran/flew away from death omens and finally lost them.
Chapter 67: Jegush the Businessmanplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 67: Jegush the Businessman
I'm starting to think Jegush doesn't have the keen business instincts he thinks he does. I wonder if poor judgment runs in the family. He came to us and said that a “misunderstanding” with some new employees he hired in Alinere City caused some (or a lot) or the magic store's inventory to go missing. Kish asked why Jegush didn't bring this obvious theft to the town guard, but when Jegush told us that the town guard charge more than we do for hunting down thieves, Kish agreed that asking us was t…
Chapter 68: The Hermit's Sheafplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 68: The Hermit's Sheaf
I was too tired to write these recaps in Ejala’s more fun voice, so I used some more honest internal monologue.
That increasingly famous bunch of heroes was about to get themselves into a lot of trouble. The more fame you have, the more the world weighs on your shoulders. I should know. I don’t know what decision they’re going to have to make, but it’s a big one, big enough to change the world. Probably something to do with dragons, and those are not creatures you want to mess with. I wasn’t ab…
Chapter 69: Danced on by a Tableplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 69: Danced on by a Table
I was too tired to write these recaps in Ejala’s more fun voice, so I used some more honest internal monologue.
We camped out for the night, and entered the brightly-lit room. The basic structure of the place was a lot like the last incarnation of the Hermit’s Sheaf, but it had a much newer, fresher feel to it. No corpses, clean floors. I could almost live there, if not for the depressing mosaics, and animated, spell-casting furniture that kept attacking us. And while the others hacked away at …
Chapter 70: Heart of Goldplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 70: Heart of Gold
I was too tired to write these recaps in Ejala’s more fun voice, so I used some more honest internal monologue.
In our wanderings, we’d discovered that each incarnation of the Sheaf had two secret exists, out to the side of the hill. So after sleeping through another night, this time inside (I took the bed, of course, and no one would begrudge an old lady), inserting the third crystal in the door, and taking a quick peek inside, we went around back. This fourth incarnation was dark, so dark tha…
Chapter 71: The Seerplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 71: The Seer
Outline (no recap yet)
We searched the last version of the Hermit's Sheaf. There was lots of high-quality living space, but no one living there. There were paintings you could walk into, a magic throne, and 12 keys that could be attuned to people to let them lock and unlock the door.
Chapter 72: A Moral Quandaryplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 72: A Moral Quandary
Field Log 12 Ne'eja Nuenthi
We have found this seer everyone has been talking about, it turns out it was captured in some kind of cage, only to be released by a pure soul. Seems to me that its visions of events can't be very good if it couldn't even keep itself from being locked up
Chapter 73: Confronting Malorplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 73: Confronting Malor
Field Journal, 12 Ne'eja Nuenthi
We have discovered Malor has turned his back on us and attempted to start the ritual without us. This has irked the team and given that we now know creation of this dragon would be dangerous or everybody in the town he must be stopped. We engaged him at the church and again at a house in town, both times he managed to slither away hiding behind items of magewood. I now have no fear of this Malor, although managing to barely escape in both encounters the raw mi…
Chapter 74: Freeing a Slaveplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 74: Freeing a Slave
Field Journal, 18 Ne'eja Nuenthi
We were nearly betrayed! The Halfling attempted to free the seer while we were discussing his fate.. I was able to restrain him long enough for Kish to assist me. Rather then submit to his restraint he pressed an attack against the whole group and fled. The fool, little did he know we decided to free the creature in exchange for its assistance, if he had only just been more patient
Chapter 75: Spying on Kelosplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 75: Spying on Kelos
Now that we think Kelos has been collecting the pieces of the Seeker, we decided to spy on him and try to figure out where he might be hiding them. Still don't know why he would want to collect the Seeker, but all the clues do seem to lead to him
Chapter 76: The Great Caperplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 76: The Great Caper
For better or worse, we made a deal with the spymaster. I don’t know why he was so close to Westend when Sekhmet thought to magically search for him, but there he was, just a short trek away. I can’t help but assume he was up to something awful, but we have no way to know, and now we won’t find out. Part of the deal is that we won’t look for him for a good long while. Not that I have any desire to see his face again, but I don’t even trust him as far as I can throw him (with the gifts the go…
Chapter 77: The Battle of the Curmudgeonsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 77: The Battle of the Curmudgeons
Have I ever told you about the time I saved the world? Not directly, of course. No, that wouldn’t be my style at all. Some people just need a little push in the right direction. Don’t look at me like that. It’s disrespectful. Oh, I did tell you that story? Maybe, but there’s more to it. Introducing them to the Seer was just the first piece. Now they had to find that circle of cursed Magewood, and they needed ol’ Ejala to keep them honest.
Chapter 78: What are you, Chicken?plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 78: What are you, Chicken?
We kept on through that old forest for days and days before our old buddy showed up again, and this time, he came with a hoard of earth elementals and a giant lizard. He demanded the others give me up in exchange for our safe passage. Some people just can’t take a little constructive criticism! The stand off went on forever, and I almost hoped they would give me up so I could knock him upside the head and teach him a lesson he wouldn’t forget. But while Lorien was all too happy to hand me over, …
Chapter 79: Across the Lakeplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 79: Across the Lake
Field Journal 8 Muja Nuenthi
This village is full if bigots… They don’t understand the utter glory of my creations, nor my companions of non-human stock. I fear the entire region might be as bad but I suppose I will need to grit my teeth a tiny bit more for now,*writing quietly while petting a raptor bot* we don’t want to agitate the locals to much now do we.
Chapter 80: The Human Conditionplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 80: The Human Condition
Lorien has got to be one of the most frustratingly human creatures I’ve ever met. Don’t get me wrong, Ejala can be pretty damn infuriating, but with her its more about her complete inability to acknowledge someone else might have a half-decent idea. But Professor Gadget, the gods almighty, how he demonstrates the worst parts of human-kind buried under tiny flashes of what makes them tolerable.
Chapter 81: Goblin Swarm Towerplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 81: Goblin Swarm Tower
field log 12 Muja Nuenthi
We have begun to explore the retched basement of the Ork occupied tower, as expected they seem to be using it as some kind of trash dump. Our Orkish companion seems fearful of entering. After a brief period of exploration it seems likely that these are the tunnels that should eventually lead us to our prize, but we are not alone. They appear infested by tribes of goblin filth un willing to reason or even communicate. They attack without provocation and we have lit…
Chapter 82: Sitting in the Muck, Rememberingplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 82: Sitting in the Muck, Remembering
Ejala sat in the driest corner of the filthy, foul-smelling cave which had until recently been filled chest-deep with water. Kish had figured out how to drain it, turning all the snake-embossed knobs on the underwater door so they faced out. How he’d figured that out, she had no idea. He had his merits, she thought, remembering an evening not long ago, but she hadn’t thought the kind of intelligence required to solve a puzzle like that was one of them.
Chapter 83: Where are the Defenders?plugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigChapter 83: Where are the Defenders?
It had been a several days since I left Westwood in search of the Guardians and the dragons attacked. From what the council was crying about it seems they always attack when the guardians leave. Though in my opinion the fact the town council did not want to pay them because no dragons had recently attack I see no reason why the league should stay around. The council did seem pretty desperate in finding them though, so I guess a walk south would do me well.

Moons
Two moons cross the sky each night. Anaion is large -- half again as wide as the Earth's moon in the sky -- but is quite dim, and dark green in hue. Not long after mid-month, a small bite appears in the east side of Anaion, and it slowly expands, until, at the first night of the new month, Anaion is a thin green ring with a black circle in the center. This phase is called the Ring Moon. The black circle continues westward until the moon is full…

Halflings
With two hundred fifty representatives, halflings are by far the most numerous of the non-Human races in the area. Seventy reside in Alinere City and twenty or thirty in Nailtown. The rest live in isolated villages scattered across the countryside.
Magewood Campaignplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigMagewood Campaign
Magewood is a Pathfinder campaign run by between May 2013 and February 2015. It took a group of adventurers through a home-brewed world of conniving lords, long-lost magic and strange dragons.

Magic and Materialsplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigMagic and Materials
This world of the Magewood Campaign is relatively low magic. Spellcasters are uncommon, but there are no restrictions on spellcasting.
Magic Items
Crafting is an expensive process, and there is very little market for the purchase and sale of magic items. When items are created, it tends to be for a specific purpose. This means that unique magic items will be more common than simple items that give a numerical bonus. Another reason items are rare is that no magic lasts for…
Money and Equipmentplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigMoney and Equipment
The kingdom in which the Magewood Campaign takes place uses a monetary system based on copper, silver and gold.
Shale
Shales are the most common coins available. In the distant past, when sedimentary rock was uncommon in the small area where the coins were used, they were made from actual shale, but with the growth of the kingdom, the market was quickly flooded. These days, they're made from copper. They're about as big as a half-dollar, and are usually stamped with the i…
Placesplugin-autotooltip__default plugin-autotooltip_bigPlaces
From the Magewood Campaign.
On a global scale, the land-locked region under the influence of the Marquis Ecusian is a bit of a backwater. The Tolk and Kurinom rivers flow through a land which is politically insignificant, too far from any border to be of military importance, and far enough from the King's Hold that it's unlikely the king himself even knows who Ecusian is.

There is a wide variety of religions in the Magewood game world, rather than a single pantheon that all agree on. You can choose from among them, choose none of them, or make up your own.
Celasiam
The most common religion in the area where the game starts is known as Celasiam. Most Celasians are human, though there are respectable numbers from the other races. The basis of the religion is the story of the creation of man (which other races extend to include themselves). The world was…
