The Healer has taken a liking to the winged woman, though I warned him not to trust her. I gather they are of the same religion. They have spent innumerable hours talking to each other, outside the hearing of the rest of us. I hope their conversation remained philosophical, and that the Healer didn't disclose anything unnecessarily.
We've sailed for a few days now, heading east to get closer to the Enemy, and to rescue the slaves. Half way into the voyage, we found that someone had funneled acid into our mast, causing it to break. The Brute managed to repair it partially with a spell, but only at the expense of most of its height. That night, the winged woman went off to investigate some lighthouse, and found a small island surrounded by wreaked ships, and guarded by a serpentine creature with the head of a woman. In the morning, she and the Swordsman (the later floating above the water) went there to try and secure a new mast, and they were nearly killed by the serpent-woman and a hoard of undead sailors. We continued without a new sail, rowing for days.
Finally, we reached a town reminiscent of the second town we'd seen in the World of Man, the one run by thieves. From there we traveled on horseback. We now follow rumors of a city of slaves near a thoroughly corrupt town known for its pirates and raiders. The Healer took upon himself the goal of curing this town of its evils, and spent the night feeding the homeless and healing some women who wander the streets in large numbers, talking to men at random. I would have preferred he stay with us in such a place, but he was insistent.
The Infiltrator would no doubt have been able to convince him to stay, but I have not heard from him. I wonder what the Infiltrator and Empty Hand are doing now.
