The creature targeted is cursed with the appearance of bad luck. While it is not actually unlucky, everywhere it goes it will be hounded by portents and signs. Mirrors break, black cats cross its path, and birds drop dead at its feet. The creature recieves a -2 morale penalty to all skill checks due to being “psyched out.” Furthermore, divinations are less effective. Any divination cast to determine its future will automatically predict the creature's death in a gruesome freak accident and Augury will always return a result of woe. Other divinations function normally, but tend to greatly overestimate the danger to the creature involved. The caster of the divination may attempt a level check (DC = 10 + level of the caster of Bad Omen) to overcome the effect.

If the caster possesses a body part (hair clippings, etc.) of the creature, he may cast this spell from anywhere on the same plane of exsistance as the target. Otherwise, the range of this spell is short.
