Pronounced “Owen.” Goes by “O” or “The O.”
In Apex, Eion was a chemist, specializing in performance-enhancing drugs. He lived in a rented apartment (a penthouse, like every apartment in Apex), which was a front for his operation. Business was booming, but he was caught dealing with unsavory magical sorts.
Eoin was heading back from customs, with a big bag of “confectioners sugar.” A policeman tried it, and passed out from rapid muscle expansion. Magic was suspected. Eoin sees himself as innocent, just sent to Shadow until his lawyers work things out.
Eoin's greatest desire: He wants to gain alchemical or magical power through guile and control.
Eoin's greatest fear: That he'll be a nobody.
The Fortune: Look for the unusual and unexpected to find the power, and take it. This will come with great danger to you, those around you, possibly everyone.
Fontain was a well-known socialite and entertainer. She threw great parties, or more often, just knew the best parties to show up at. She lived in a swank loft in the hip part of town. She came from money, but wasn't in the top tier herself, and while she was acutely aware of this, she worked hard to make sure her fans weren't.
Fontain came to court dressed atypically primly, asking for forgiveness from the judge. A witness described how, after an evening of partying, Fontain chased her lover into the hall, hit him with the bust of some famous person, and killed him. Normally, she could have gotten away with this, but the guy was a member of a wealthier family than hers, and the murder was too public.
Desire: Apex-styl fame.
Fear: Being unknown.
Fortune: Interact with the light eater.
Usually galled “Bang,” but was born Neela Lemage. About 2/3 of her body has been replaced with cybernetics.
Bang was a member of the Singulon cult (often referred to derisively as dongles or jackers). Before she joined the cult, she was a socialite, the daughter of a powerful family. Bang lived in an abandoned mansion with hundreds of other members of the cult.
This now-defunct cult in Apex believed that the “singularity” was imminent. In an attempt to merge into one entity, they all killed themselves at once. Very few members are still alive.
Bang hacked into the light bending tecnhology to create the illusion of a floating head that demanded everyone jack in. This caused widespread chaos, damage and accidents.
Lots of socialites lost family members to the cult. Her trial was very public. She was stripped of most of her augments, and was forced to spend the singulon event locked up. She has been quiet and stoic ever since.
The darkness you seek is in Shadow, but it isn’t what you think. You have more to lose before you can get what you want.
