Emeralds of Teleportation
Created by The DM.
The item is a 6” lemon-shaped object, covered with 250 little indentations. Each indentation fits a small blue emerald worth at least 50gp. Such an emerald instantly fuses into an indentation if inserted.
When the wielder speaks a command word, one of the emeralds drops to the ground, and the wielder is instantly transported to the current location of the last emerald dropped, as if using Greater Teleport. The emerald at the destination is destroyed. If there is insufficient room at the destination, the wielder is shunted to the nearest space of sufficient size, with damage inflicted as per Greater Teleport. No transportation occurs when the first emerald is dropped, and the item can be reset and recharged by completely filling it with emeralds.
Only one emerald per day can be removed. Forceably prying out an additional emerald will teleport the wielder, but comes with a 5% chance that the item will lose all magical ability.
The item and any dropped emerald radiates an aura of conjuration magic. If the item is destroyed, any unused emeralds revert to normal, non-magical gemstones.
Cost: 10,000gp when full. 8750gp when completely empty.
