Robes of Adaptation
Created by The DM.
In their natural form, the Robes of Adaptation look like simple, brown travelling clothes. As an immediate action once every ten rounds, the Robes can change into one of several forms. Once changed, they can remain in that form as long as they're worn. When removed, the Robes revert to their natural form after one hour.
The Robes occupy the Body item slot. In any form where they extend beyond the torso, they hide any overlapping magic items from view.
Travel Clothes In their natural form, the Robes are simple, brown travelling clothes and a sturdy pair of leather boots. In this form, the Robes include six pockets, each of which functions as a miniature Bag of Holding capable of storing up to five pounds of items. These extradimensional spaces are not accessible in any other form without removing the Robes completely. This form also allows the wearer to survive twice as long as usual without food or water.
Clothing The Robes can become any suit of clothing costing up to 1000gp. This clothing can cover as much of the body as the owner wants, and can have parts that extend up to two feet from the body. Any part that is removed and separated by more than two feet turns into cheap cloth, and decomposes into nothing over the course of five rounds.
Warm Clothing A fine sheepskin winter coat, heavy trousers and boots and a warm wool hat. In this form, they provide resistence to cold as per Endure Elements. They also allow movement through snow with no penalty.
Armor A suit of +1 Full Plate, which functions exactly as the item in the Player's Handbook. It is impossible to craft additional armor bonuses onto this Full Plate.
Elemental Shield An insulating, protective shell made of primal matter from one of the the four elemental planes. This provides resistence 5 to energy associated with that element (acid for earth, cold for air, fire for fire and electricity for water), and a +1 shield bonus to AC. However, the bulky shell reduces the wearer's speed by 10.
At the wearer's option, this item functions while polymorphed or in Wild Shape, but only when transformed into roughly humanoid-shaped creatures (one head, two legs, two arms).
Prereq: Endure Elements, Polymorph Any Object, Energy Resistence, clvl 15
